There's nothing more refreshing than a chilled Pinot Gris on a summer's day! Pinot Gris, which is designated as 'PG', is a fuller-bodied, more flavoursome and often more alcoholic variety of white wine grape species Vitis vinifera than the more common Pinot Grigio.
GoodFood observes that the difference between Pinot Gris and Pinot Grogio "is that gris is based on the French Alsace style, riper and richer, with more alcohol and sometimes a little sweetness; grigio is based on the Italian model, lighter and simpler with less alcohol. Good PG can be delicious."
Like a Sémillon, a good bottle of PG is best paired with an antipasto. If you are looking to buy a PG for your next occasion, visit Dan Murphy's.
